Why LED Lighting? I thought LED’s were expensive? LED lighting is quickly becoming the number one retrofit product for commercial facilities and retailers across the United States. The LED lighting industry is becoming mainstream faster than any predictions of a year ago. With increased demands, the industry has noticed decreased costs of the once overpriced product. So answer is because it is cheaper than standard incandescent lighting. It is cheaper to use and eliminates the expensive and
time consuming maintenance cost associated with products that last just a few months. LED lighting will run for a minimum of 5 years or 50,000 hours. The initial costs if LED lighting is more expensive than standard lighting, but could you imagine, never changing a light bulb again?
How do LED lights look? Well, like everything, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but for a fact we can say that LED lighting looks more like natural sunlight than does common incandescent lighting, which tends to look yellow next to an LED bulb. The versatility of LED lighting is amazing. We can replicate the look of incandescent lighting, or provide a much better, crisper, cleaner look. Whatever your needs and desire may be!
Why is my current lighting so much more inefficient than LED lighting? Have you ever touched a light bulb that has been turned on for a while? Well that is why it is so inefficient. Light bulbs get hot! Did you know that a 40 watt standard bulb uses only 4-6 watts of energy to create light? The remaining 36 watts are wasted energy. That energy comes off as heat. Standard incandescent lighting only uses about 10% of the energy it draws to create light. Now that is inefficient! The added and unnecessary heat created by these inefficient bulbs are also the cause of burnouts. If a bulb can burn cooler, it will last longer.
LED lighting does not get hot. There are no cancer causing gases, there are no special recycling needs, and there are no early burnout problems. A standard 40 watt bulb can be replaced with a 5-7 watt LED, which gives you an 80-85% savings in energy.
